School History

In the fall of 2023, the Creative Science School community merged with that of Jim Bridger Elementary - creating a new school, Bridger Creative Science School.  This merger came as a result of the South East PPS Redistricting initiative, responding to the growing number of students in our SE neighborhoods.  We are a thriving community of both neighborhood students and those attending via the lottery.  Our school of K-8 students and our staff teach with a focus on Piaget/Constructivism teaching style dating back to 1986.  Constructivism in education is a theory that suggests that learners do not passively acquire knowledge through direct instruction.  Instead, they construct their understanding through experiences and social interaction, integrating new information with their existing knowledge.  You can learn more about Constructivism here: https://edtechbooks.org/studentguide/constructivism
